The longest serving African Caribbean radio DJ in the BBC, Herdle White has been presenting shows for BBC Radio Leicester for over 50 years. Starting his radio career with a five-minute Caribbean roundup, Herdle went on to produce Talking Blues (which marks its fortieth
anniversary this year) before the show evolved into the current The Sound of The Caribbean.

A familiar face at Leicester Caribbean Carnival, this is an opportunity to celebrate a local trailblazer and find out more about the music and people who have been a backdrop to his life.
