LDIF17: Philadanco!


We have some exciting news for you all! Joan Myers Brown founder of Philadanco who we had the pleasure of meeting at Re:Generations conference is coming back to the UK to joins us for Let’s Dance International Frontiers 2017.

Meeting Joan Myers Brown was inspirational, the opportunities she has given young black dancers is phenomenal, helping them to break through multiple boundaries and has given them the confidence to achieve in the dance world.

Joan Myers Brown is the founder of The Philadelphia Dance Company (also known as Philadanco) and The Philadelphia School of Dance Arts, she also established International Association of Blacks in Dance in 1991 and now is an honorary chairperson for the organisation. Joan Myers Brown has been involved in various organisations regionally and nationally and in 2012 received the nation’s highest civic honour for excellence in the arts with the National Medal of Arts presented by President Barack Obama.

Philadanco is known for breaking barriers and building bridges across cultural divides which you will be given an insight into during the Identity and Choreographic Conference and presents the highest quality of professional dance which you will most definitely see with their breathtaking performance. With Philadanco joining us for LDIF’s seventh birthday it is definitely going to be a big year and we can assure you that you will not want to miss out.
