Unspoken: African Dialogues

Unspoken: African Dialogues explores the complex stories of migration to the UK and specifically giving voice to the African community. The exhibition seeks to move beyond and challenge the monolithic perspective often presented by the media and celebrate the diversity of the African Diaspora in the UK.

Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage recorded oral history interviews that bring to the forefront unspoken narratives of migration, identity and presence.

Part of Unearthed: Forgotten Histories, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Unearthed: Forgotten Histories seeks to make a structural difference to the recording, documentation and sharing of Black history and heritage in the UK, and to give back hidden histories for everyone to share.
