Serendipity launches new project for 2026!
Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage would like to invite you to be a part of its upcoming project, Making the Invisible Visible: Black Women 365 Days of the Year.
Following the success of 100 Black Women Who Have Made A Mark, Serendipity is delighted to launch this new project for 2026. It showcases a different woman each day whose story has shaped Black British or global Diasporic history, many of whom remain overlooked or under-celebrated in mainstream narratives.
Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage believes your story should be celebrated. By being a part of this project, you will be asked to complete a self-tape answering a short series of questions. Your video interview will then be edited by the Serendipity team and uploaded onto the Serendipity YouTube channel. A short clip or highlight reel of the interview will also be showcased on Serendipity’s social media channels to shine a spotlight on all the stories captured within this project.
This will take the form of a rolling programme of short films, released throughout the year to keep these stories in daily circulation and to create an evolving constellation of leadership, resistance, artistry and enduring impact.
You will also have the opportunity to nominate another person to feature as part of Making the Invisible Visible. Nominees should be from the African, African Caribbean and Latinx Diaspora who identify as women or people from marginalised genders. Please only nominate if you have consent to share their contact details with Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage.
We are thrilled to welcome you into this project. For further information, the questions you need to answer and submit your video recording, click here to be taken to the Making the Invisible Visible: Black Women 365 Days of the Year form.
Should you require the submission form in another format, please contact the Serendipity team via email at info@serendipity-uk.com or by giving us a call on +44 (0)116 482 1394.
