Tanzmesse 2018

We headed to Düsseldorf to attend Tanzmesse, an annual dance festival in Germany, bringing together dancers, choreographers, artistic directors, programmers and producers from around the world.

It was a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and discuss opportunities for work and collaboration. Such as Niels Gamm, Kulturconsulting and Cleo Parker Robinson.

It was also great to meet delegates from Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, France, Kenya, USA, Germany, Hong Kong and Martinique. There were plenty of opportunities to hear about different festivals and platforms around the world. We also had the chance to see performances from Brazil, Reunion Islands, Spain, Germany and Chile.

Serendipity had a great time at the Dance from England booth with the other delegates represented there. Including Dance4, who coordinated the booth, Jean Abreu, 2Faced Dance, Seetal Patel, Alexander Whitley, Arts Trust productions, Clod Ensemble and Jasmin Vardimon.

When the time came for Serendipity’s takeover, we had a fantastic and busy hour sharing the work we do with international delegates and sharing the publications with new audiences.

We had a great time in Düsseldorf and look forward to the future projects that have come from a productive few days at Tanzmesse 2018.
