Georgina Payne is a multidisciplinary artist and Creative Expressive therapeutic facilitator
who has vast experience working with young people over the years in all aspects of the arts.
Georgina attended local dance classes, aged 3, which those dance classes turned into
assisting, and then teaching and choreographing dance pieces for various dance and youth
groups. Dance has taken Georgina across the UK; representing England in Belfast, then
representing the East Midlands in Plymouth, both part of Dance 4, UDance competitions;
performing a contemporary group dance piece for Prince Edward who visited Leicester in
2015.
Whilst also continuing with her dance practice, Georgina found a deeper love for art,
exploring the possibilities of helping others and using art at the same time. Studying
Creative Expressive Therapies at the University of Derby, graduating in 2020; since then,
Georgina has brought the arts to a therapeutic independent school. Working predominantly
with primary-aged children, young people with behaviours that challenge and SEND,
delivering person-centred creative expressive art workshops and sharing her passion for the
arts to the next generation of artists.
Georgina founded GP Designs & Artwork, a way to explore her independent art journey and
in August 2021 City Canvas was born, a creative expressive arts organisation; that offers an
inclusive and safe space for all young people, adults, and families; catering to SEND needs to
support their exploration with the arts. As well as various BHM events, projects and
workshops for students and the public.
