A fascinating history of England’s independent record stores that specialised in Black music, with stories told by those who worked and shopped in them.  Female perspectives include bold tastemakers such as Marcia Carr (Girlz B Like), Claudia Wilson (Pure Vinyl) and DJ Rap (Propa Talent).  It also features Trevor Nelson, Jazzie B and a host of other pioneers of street sounds.  Production by Simon ‘Schooly’ Phillips and Winstan Whitter, managed by 2Funky Arts, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
